Limited leave with or without pay may be granted for bereavement of a close relative or for other similar reasons. Entitlement will be at the discretion of the CEO and the following are guidelines only;
Time off with pay will normally be granted to attend a funeral of a member of the immediate family e.g. spouse, parent, brother or sister.
Where an employee is responsible for making funeral arrangements up to 3 days’ leave may be authorised.
Time off for serious illness of a member of the immediate family may be granted. Whenever possible holiday entitlement should be used to cover at least part of the allocation of compassionate leave.
Once agreed, please book all absence via BreatheHR (use the Leave module and select "Other" as the reason for absence).
You are normally expected to ensure that appointments to visit the doctor, dentist, hospital, etc. are made in your own time and outside normal working hours. In the event that this is not reasonably practicable, time off work will be permitted to attend such appointments providing that the appointment is substantiated with an appointment card (if requested) and the timing of the appointment causes as little disruption as possible i.e. at the beginning or end of the working day.
You will be paid for the time lost at the discretion of the Company.
